Met this attorney on a visit to a senior center to attend a workshop on Wills, Estate Planning, and Texas Law on same.
As a result, spouse and I made appointment to update our 1984 wills from Fort Knox, KY. The gold seal had fallen off and paper was yellow on our wills; so about time I guess.
Office easy to find on San Pedro Avenue; small parking lot.
Carol and her staff are very approachable and took a lot away from the stereotype of the typical lawyer's office...in a very good way.
Her fees are reasonable, she explains things in regular people-speak, and the experience was extremely painless!
If you have a need to update or make out your first wills (starting out young in life or senior), this attorney is a definite "go to" for piece of mind...

So happy to rate this elder law practice as personable, ethical and professional. I especially enjoy the monthly client newsletter. I have had documents drawn up by this staff which will stand in court do that my wishes and concerns for estate planning will be honored. Absolutely the best!

I did my research and called all my attorney contacts in Austin and universally, all my Austin attorney contacts referred me to Carol Bertsch. That was impressive. She is highly respected in her field (Elder Law) and her paralegals and staff are smart, hardworking and they really know their area of law. I'm not a Texas resident, so I was terrified to trust a Texas attorney with my elder mother's case. With the first consultation, I knew that Carol and her staff knew how to position my mother so she could maximize her benefits (Medicaid) and Carol and her staff knew the best nursing homes to refer me to. Carol and her paralegal Jody are very respectful in their dealings and interactions with elder clients and they know how to educate their clients. I trust Jody and Carol so much, that I made a special trip to San Antonio just to hire this firm for my elder father and elder uncle. I am most impressed with Jody Hudspeth who goes above and beyond when it comes to educating the client and guiding them through this stressful process. Because I am out-of-state, Jody sends me regular updates and progress reports on my mother's case. I've never seen a more attentive legal team! Obviously, I'm grateful for their services which is why my entire family goes to the Law Offices of Carol Bertsch.
