Late in life divorce is a life altering experience. As a professional in child care industry, I never expected to be involved in this type of situation. My case was extremely complex. I live in Michigan and my case was here in San Diego. It involved alleged arrearages that began in 1995 (according to my ex). In truth there were indeed arrearages but not as old nor the amount that my ex claimed. The interest penalties could have killed me and devastated my world either way as the last time I had even spoken to my ex was 14 years ago. This is a nuance that should not be overlooked.

Roy and Angelina were able to create a case and show enough evidence that I believe made my ex feel enough pressure to settle for an amount that was less than 50% of what she was originally trying to extort from me. I don't think she wanted to be put on the stand because she would have had to perjure herself or come clean on a lot of things she said in her claims.

Roy is also a known quantity around the court house with different lawyers which I really believed helped in the negotiation process. I think my ex wive's lawyer (who seemed to be feared by many of the lawyers I interviewed) respected Roy and I think this relationship was very helpful.

I would HIGHLY recommend Roy and Angelina. Consumate professionals who responded to anything I had to say or ask in a very timely manner. I hope I never have to work with him again... But if something should happen he would be the first call I made.

Going through the divorce and custody process in the Family Court System is not easy. As a retired senior military Officer, I can say Mr. Forney took the time to research the intricacies of military retired benefits and the federal law pertaining to divisions accordingly. Instead of steering me into litigation and extraordinary expense, they helped me to settle with the opposing party (x-wife and her attorney), despite the opposing party being extremely unreasonable, and difficult. I recently went through a tough battle with my ex-husband's foster parents. They took me to court under false pretenses and somehow we made it all the way to an evidentiary hearing in San Diego. I found Roy on Google because he had a ton of great reviews and called him immediately. He listened to my situation and didn't charge me for the consultation although it was a lengthy conversation. He was so easy to work with and very flexible. I live in Washington State so most of our contact was via email. Divorce is a very stressful process in it of itself, and finding a lawyer on the other hand who will represent your interests and concerns is just as equally stressful. I just finished working with Roy Doppelt on a most unusual and complex Family Law case. My brother passed away almost two years ago and I am the only living member of his immediate family. He did not leave a will. In the middle of probate his X wife surfaced from Germany and started a case in which she was claiming rights to his estate. As to why she was able to fight this, is a long story. The important thing is that Mr. Doppelt was such a great help to me and this case. He is aggressive when he needs to be with the other side and yet always maintains his dignity and manners. He will keep in constant contact with you, always keeping you abreast of what is happening. He is honest and realistic. He wants to finish your case in a timely manner and yet not compromise your goal. He will not nickel and dime you like some lawyers do for everything little thing like faxes, parking fees, etc. Mr. Doppelt was able to finish my case with our side winning. I would highly recommend him as a Family Law attorney.
