I worked with both Mark and Derek. Derek worked up my petition and handled everything up to the court date. Due to the court I was filing, Mark was the attorney the day of.

They were/are extremely knowledgeable, incredibly relatable and yet very professional. They have a level of integrity that isn't stereotypically attributed to attorneys. They made things easy on me and everything ran smoothly despite my extreme anxiety over the whole thing.

I recommend having all your ducks in a row (all required information, ie. Creditor list, income information, expense list...ready and saved/backed up) before the last minute. I found that, in doing so, it made both of our 'jobs' easier. I also recommend asking questions so you understand what is needed and/or happening.

There was no pressure to actually get to the filing. Meaning, Derek helped me understand my options months before I actually decided to file and I was not hounded to do it on anyone's timeframe but my own.

That being said, once I got the ball rolling, there are definitive timeframes for each part of the process to ensure success. Still, you have plenty of time and are notified well in advance what the next steps are and when they must be completed.

And I'd like to point out that he provided me with excellent customer service and did a ton of research for me to not only help me decide whether or not to file, but which chapter I would qualify for WITHOUT my solid commitment to proceed. I mean, who does that? THESE GUYS!

They do an excellent job of giving you feedback and status updates at each step in the process. Their email communications contained information that seemed to anticipate any potential issues. I recommend keeping all of your correspondence in one place.

Not only are their fees reasonable, they let you pay out their fees if you don't have the money up front. You need only have the filing fee in a lump sum.

So, if you find yourself in a situation that requires you to file, take a deep breath, realize most of us are a paycheck or two away from devastation and you aren't a bad person or a total screw up. Then, call or email Derek and Mark.

A few years ago, Mark got me a settlement on a car accident I was involved in. No one else would help me because my settlement was going to be small. He took my case anyways.

Then I came back to him to help me with some estate issues I had post my husbands death. We didn’t listen to people when they told us to get our estate plan in order. Started out good but ended bad.Got into a car wreck and nobody cared are would listen. Couldn't get emails returned our a question answered.They seemed to be mad when you ask about something.Like i said first year was good then it went down the tubes.I would not recommend.I wish i had gotten the guys the rest of you are reviewing.Left me hanging at the worst time in my life.

I live out of town and was given Mr. Prosser's number to contact regarding legal advice. Even though he's not able to assist in the state I live, he still offered advice regarding the matter. Very helpful and if I lived in TX, I would definitely use his firm to handle legal matters.

As a long time small business owner in Dallas I never thought I'd have to file bankruptcy. Wrong. The best laid plans can..........

I have had detailed dealings with numerous well-known Dallas attorneys through the years. I say this only as reference to comparison to Derek Prosser. I would no longer be able to work so couldn't afford one of the "downtown highrise" attorneys.

And I am glad I couldn't. Toronjo & Prosser handled my legal issues as efficiently and professionally as did any of the others, including the firm I'd used for my business for the previous five years - and for less money than they would have charged. I even called the other firm and told them about it.

These guys have it down. It seems like Toronjo is the back-room legal geek and Prosser is the "outside guy" who deals with the bankruptcy trustee . Works perfectly!

And the cherry on the top is: a year later, I have a question. Had paid a one-time fee so embarrassingly emailed Derek. A couple of hours later he calls me to clarify my issue, gives me the answer, then asks about my health (previously had been poor)!
