Emily Ivy helped me with my granddaughter's case. She was very honest

I paid her 1500$ in March and I have not heard from her since she does not answer my calls or emails. In fact a lady I kno called her and set an appointment and when she told my name she to has been ignored I don’t understand why she is treating me this way

Where. Do. I. Begin. Let me start with the fact that this wasn't our first time dealing with a family lawyer. I have two step kids and we fight for custody of both. I won't compare one lawyer to the other, but I said that to point out that we had some knowledge of the proceedings. This case should have been a breeze. We were pursuing child support that turned into a custody battle(on no gtounds). Something that should've taken MAYBE few months (including paperwork from the OAG being filed) turned into almost a year! Apparently she had some type of life event that prevented her from working. Even after trying to be compassionate and considerate about her situation (even though it put us in a financial bind), she was flaky, didn't respond to messages or calls, and our case drug on. We even had her removed from our case as attorney with the OAG in a attempt to wrap things up on our own. Initially, we thought she was a God send, that quickly turned out to be untrue. I am not sure how much detail is appropriate, so I'll leave it at that, but I wouldn't recommend doing business with her.

The consultation went well. But since then I can't get her to respond to any of my emails. Never answers the phone and not a call back after leaving a voicemail. If she wasn't interested in helping me and having me as a client she could have said so. ANY response would have been nice.

We hired Emily to help us with a custody case, not knowing that we would only hear from her on her own terms. She is horrible with responding to emails and phone calls when you need her. We have left her messages with little to no response, and always excuses when we wouldn’t hear back from her. She does not make her clients her first priority. We hired her in a time of need and guidance through a court process and the way she handled everything was very disappointing. Even when trying to get ahold of her through a different phone number she refused to answer or respond. Our case is currently closed, but we still have a question about the agreement from time to time, and now we know who we cannot rely on for help. I would not hire or recommend this person, and I definitely don’t know how she keeps her business running with the way us and several people have been treated. I wish I would have read reviews before hiring, I hope this helps someone choose the right person for the job because you’re better off with another lawyer.

She started out strong but we've now gone about 6 months without hearing from her. We've called, left voicemails, sent emails, and she hasn't responded to any of them. I called and left her a message from a number we hadn't called her from, didn't leave a name, and she called right back. After telling her who I was she apologized and said she a family tragedy she'd been dealing with but she'd give us a call tomorrow after taking time to review the things that happened in the prior months. That was two weeks ago and we haven't heard back. Now we're going to have to remove her from the case and hire another lawyer. I don't want to think about how much time my husband lost with his daughters because we took so long to fire Emily Ivy. I wish she had told us long ago that she didn't have time for us.
