I have contacted this company twice regarding a bankruptcy filing and both times they were unwilling to speak with me. The secretary’s excuse is that her “boss signs her paycheck and she can only do what she’s told to do.” I have had phone conversations with other law firms regarding bankruptcy filing, but for some reason this seems out of the realm of possibilities for the Compton firm.

Lawyers are supposed the be the professionals, no? That is why people hire and retain them because they are supposed to have the knowledge, know the ins and outs and give you ALL of the options. This did not happen with a family member and cost them $2000 in rears bc they did not give them all the possibilities. But still had to pay the retainer fee. Do yourself a favor and do NOT retain them unless you want to be told “that’s your choice” and not be told this could happen if you decide to do blah blah blah... Hire someone aggressive.

Melinda Flinn- she helped us so much through a Custody Suit and worked so hard to on our case and was understanding and sympathetic, highly recommended by me!

Friendly staff, seemed to know was needed to help with complete future elderly care... But, ended up missing some important information about Power of Attorney requirements!! Pretty disappointed with the outcome and price for a halfway done job!!

Absolutely horrible service! Failed to provide any advice that could be described with a word other than vague or useless. Did not take adequate notes on intake or retainer appointments, so everything got dragged out by requests for information that was already provided. Any money paid was completely wasted!

I do not know what the other people's issues are with Mr. Compton, quite a brilliant attorney, very up front, and tries to help you save money throughout the horrible and ugly process of a divorce. These processes are long and complex, this man has helped me through out the process, even though he and the rest of his staff are quite busy, cut them some slack. I rate 5 stars because he helped with a custody dispute, and other issues that have arisen through out the process, if I could rate with more stars I would. Thank you.

My divorce was supposed to be official processed on March 16, 2019. I receive an email on March 12, 2019 that my divorce want be finalized for another 33 days. Best part or I can go to court and pay additional fees. How is this acceptable or proper steps for a client for a divorce. They claim my amendment was sent certified mail and needed to be signed. However today the amendment is being resent through regular mail. 1 +1=2. This makes no sense and I'm being given attitude by Crystal Rodriquez the only receptionist as she stated. When I asked to speak to her supervisor because she was rude I'm listening to laughs over the phone. The process of divorce can be simple if you hire a professional attorney and I promise you this is not the office. I can only imagine that I will be receiving even worst service when I arrive at 2 pm tomorrow.

Called to schedule a consult for custody and was told that no one could talk with my husband at 4:45 because their last appointment is at 4:30. We are calling from a completely different state and have a two hour time difference. They asked why my husband couldn't just get off work early or call on his lunch. I didn't get passed that point because I don't believe someone unwilling to work with a possible client by a few minutes is worth the trouble.

Did what he could for me

No complaints, I had a simple divorce nothing complicated. Made an appointment to see Roger paid my consult fee hired him same day then paid the remaining fee for the divorce. The office assistant or paralegal always kept me informed and uploaded my legal documents as soon as they were filed. I'd recommend this law firm they made the process easy.

I dont hire laywers all the time so I didnt know that if i didnt retain them same day that i would loose money. I just called them and thats when they decided to inform me that i needed to hire them the same day for thr fee to apply to my divorce .Who knew??? No one told me. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Mr. Incompetent not only tried to bill me for services not rendered (for example, his office spelled my email address incorrectly and he tried to charge ME for the bounced email), he did not communicate with me AT ALL regarding my divorce/custody case after the initial consult. I showed up for court dates that had been put on continuance more than once due to him not informing me of the continuances. I was unsuccessful at getting any of my calls returned anytime I did try and talk to him. He never once denied, argued or put up any sort of resistance to the crap my ex's lawyer was throwing at me. TERRIBLE LAWYER! (PS... read 2 of the other five star reviews, they are verbatim exactly the same = fake).

I was going thru my divorce, I never have gone thru a divorce before and it was a really ugly one and I was the only one taking care of my only child I had between me and my ex wife. My ex wife was going thru extremes in harassing me and made my life very difficult. When i contacted Roger Compton's offices in Fayetteville, I was set up a appointment with a Attorney named Melinda. She was very caring and understanding and always renew my confidence in my situation and told me I was not the Bad Guy in my situation. She helped me filed and represented me for my divorce, the law office gave me strength and confidence during a extremely low and hard point in my life. She fought for me, the insane harassment ended, and I ended up with a Absolute Divorce as that was the one that suited me the best. The law office was very understanding and supportive of me and never once tried to do a what if legal scare tactic on me. She heard my issue, listened to my concerns, listen to my desire outcome. Then she laid out a plan of action and she went thru with everything she said was she was going to do with the legal system. For that I am truly forever thankful for what she did for me and my son. I am now able to function normally without fear of any harassment and I can now live my life with my son in a safe and healthy environment.
