I have worked with Marshall Miller and Tammy Smith since the spring of 2015. Over the course of our time together, Marshall and Tammy both tenaciously fought on my behalf. The custody agreement involved my 2 children, one of whom has severe special needs. Tammy Smith was truly intent on understanding what my special needs child's life is like day to day, as well as my long term goals for her. In order to do this, she had to grasp complex medical diagnoses, treatments and protocols. Tammy also had to understand special education from a Federal standpoint, as well as from state to state. In October 2016 I hired Tammy Smith to file divorce documents for me because I was on a temporary assignment, out of state, and didn’t want to wait until I returned to file myself. Tammy Smith took my payment and immediately dropped all contact with me.
She did not file, she did not respond to my calls, emails, or written request to refund my payment. After 4 months of no response I filed a grievance with the state bar. To this date, still no contact or refund from her.

I have handled thousands of matters for clients over my career. Everyone of my client have my cell phone number and I try to be diligent in responding to everyone. I am not a perfect person. I feel it is unfortunate that someone can leave a review without putting their name on it.. if there was a problem I would of welcome the opportunity of resolving the matter and making a client happy. I have received awards for client satisfaction.”
I want to add that initial contact with Tammy Smith was positive, however after the first three weeks of hiring her I did not receive any responses to my calls to her personal number, office number, or emails and my very simple request to file for divorce was not actioned on. I was patient and waited, but months later my continued calls were still not answered, voicemails not returned and emails were not replied to.
If an attorney cannot, in 6 months time, file an action for you, should you hire them to do so?

If I could give this firm 10 stars I would have. Tammy Smith has a SUPERIOR knowledge of Family Law. I cannot stress enough how confident we were going into court having her as our attorney. She made sure to be abreast of all information we gave her and used all of our updates we sent periodically over the months it took our case to be heard. First and foremost I can’t say enough good things about Tammy. I was out of state on a assignment when I found out that my ex filed for my son to be adopted by her husband. She disappeared with him for two years at that point. I went to court not really having enough time to hire a attorney. I did talk to Tammy on the phone once before but didn’t make final arrangements with her. Quickly I realize this wasn’t something I could handle myself When i started to feeling anxiety rush over me in front of the Judge. Luckily she was in the court room. The judge asked me if I would like a chance to get a attorney instead of moving forward, I didn’t even noticed Tammy behind me when she spoke up and told him that we started to talk but haven’t had the opportunity to finish up. She expressed that the court didn’t give me enough time to get across country and set up anything. They continued my case and I hired her on the spot. She won that case for me and is currently trying to help me fight so I can see my son again.... this has been the hardest thing I have dealt with as a man, being a father that isn’t in my sons life. I thought I might have lost him forever when my ex disappeared and wouldn’t answer me back. Tammy has given me hope and even though I live in another state. She always makes time to talk even when it’s in the evening knowing she would rather be with her own family.

Smith did nothing for our case. She did not sit down with my husband to see what he wanted out of trial. She did not use the books of info on the case that we tried to give her. She did not subpoena helpful people we told her about in the case. She took over two months to get the court order signed by the judge after trial. She ignores texts and calls. She stole our paperwork from the therapist office. She did not fight for us. We paid $3000 cash out of pocket right up front, and never seen her work for the case. I would NOT recommend anyone using her services. Her partner is the one who drew up the paperwork to take it to court initially. The only thing she did was show up for court. If your children's lives are hanging on the balance, do yourself a favor and select a different attorney. I wish I would have had a warning, so here is your warning guys!
