I need to have an update on my review on Shawn Cline that I gave over 4 years ago. He is not a good lawyer and did not handle my case without a costly result. The courts in the City of Chesapeake gave me on 2 charges a Case Dismissed. We walked out of the court room and Shawn Cline said "oh you really didn't need me". I paid him to do his job. I know some people like Mr. Cline and for them I'm glad they had a favorable outcome. For me in my world I spend over $3300.00. I don't consider myself knowing the law but I just wanted that case dismissed to be shown, the judges did not give me a not guilty- Shawn Cline did that by walking out of the courtroom that day. I had two charges. He got one dismissed, but couldn’t do much on the other due to my verbiage with the police when everything happened. But he did what he said he would do. And he kept me out of jail. Overall I would recommend Mr. Cline. A little pricy but worth the investment. Very knowledgeable and a nice man to work with!

Since I have always heard very little good things about lawyers and I have never had a need for one, I was some what skeptical. I hired Shawn Cline with a personal dispute matter. He handled my case very professionally. In the end, my case was dismissed by the court and I then had Shawn handle my expungement case. I was not aware that I still had a criminal record when the court dismissed my case. I thought with the judge saying "case dismissed" there would be no record, but that is not the case. I was glad Shawn brought this to my attention so we could follow up with getting the expungement. I'm glad I chose Shawn Cline and would recommend him. I hired Mr. Cline to represent me on a false charge of abusive language. He admitted to me it was a set up and that he was friends with police. I brought pictures to prove my innocence and he wouldn't give them to the judge. He allowed my social security number, date of birth and cell phone number to be given out to my entire neighborhood. I fired him and he still showed up at the courtroom. He also refused to return the $2,500.00 i paid him. He should lose his law license. Giving out someone's social and date of birth is a violation of the identy theft act, the social security act and a privacy violation as well as the Fair Credit Reporting Act. He should be disbarred.
